opportunities to see penises and breasts in all their amazing assortment, the point
is driven home that their body is just as ordinary and acceptable as anyone
else's.
Children are not allowed
to satisfy their absolutely natural interest when it is safe to achieve that. Grownups
have sex hormones raging through their bodies. Prepubescent kids don't.

Make no mistake about it,
once children reach puberty, they're going to start preparing themselves, one
Manner or another. If parents or another adult authority figure does not help
them do it, they'll do it by themselves.
And we all know how they
They will gather
misinformation from friends as ignorant as themselves. They are going to develop
They will experiment with nudity and sex among
themselves, ignorant of the risks involved. And they will do it all with a
ghastly emotional stew of sexual arousal, shame, guilt, and rebellion mixed into

better than enabling children to experience nudity under careful adult

to accept the aging cycle of human beings. Everyone fears getting old. We think

If we could only see
human bodies in all the various phases of aging on a regular basis, it would
be a familiar sight to us, a comfortable sight.

to instruct people to fear the natural life cycles of their own bodies?
Kids, like all individuals,
equate their bodies with themselves. They're their bodies. If we teach
them to be fearful and ashamed of their bodies (and we do), they are going to be humiliated
of themselves. And so a uncontrolled outbreak of self-loathing flourishes in our
culture.
Notably our women. The
most amazing girls on earth still believe
there 's something wrong with their
bodies.
Children are killing
themselves over poor self-image. The girl that purges or starves herself to
